Welcome to Rising Glen House
The house was published in a book called “Hip Hollywood Homes” by Sue Hostetler. The Foreward was written by Courtney Cox Arquette. Darren Star built this gorgeous hillside home. The creator of Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, and Sex and City used architect Mark Rios. The house was originally designed by Hal Levitt in the 1950s.
The front entry consisted of smooth concrete and white laminate glass. The house was deliberate in creating indoor and outdoor spaces. The pool located in the center of the backyard was 14′ x 35′ feet. It also had a raised spa and two waterfalls. The exterior was all ironwood decks. The deck was supported by 13 caissons set into the hillside and embedded into the bedrock below.
The house featured large glass walls, doors, and windows. Milo Baglioni was the interior decorator for the project and brought many high-end pieces of art to the house. The house was minimalist but comfortable. White terrazzo floors were installed along with the floor-to-ceiling steel and glass once again giving that openness to nature and the exterior. The custom cabinetry and interior elements were all produced by top L.A. designers and sub-contractors. Tisdale Construction was honored and grateful to be the contractor for this Hip Hollywood Home. To be involved with so many talented artists, architects, and craftsmen to produce such an amazing house for the essence of Los Angeles living.
